Taking small steps.

Last week we did a lot of small things.
We started with installing the seat rails.
Then we made the seat risers so the seat is mounted 4 cm higher.
And we prepared everything for installing the door seals.
The next day we installed the door seals witch took most of our time.
And then we installed the seat on the risers.
The next day was started with installing the trim around the seats.
And we fabricated a bracket for the carburetor to install the choke and throttle cable. The air cleaner had to come of for this and we noticed that the bracket holding the air cleaner was somewhat fragile. So we mad a new one combined with a riser to hold it on the carb with descend screws.
We installed the seats that came with the car to check the height.
And then we started with repainting the steering wheel .
The paint that was on it remained soft. With some washing thinner the paint was easily removed.
So then we could prime it.
After the primer was cured we painted on the lacquer.
This day we also installed the inside windshield trim and the wiper arms and blades are installed.
The next day I found a solution for the turn signals. A new relay was installed and a diode bridge prevents that the relay keeps constantly working.
We first soldered some wires to the diode bridge and then installed it between the wires of the front turn signals and the indicator light on the turn signal selector.
We also had to repaint the steering wheel. Apparently I forgot to paint a spot.
The next day I installed the steering wheel in the car.
And then I installed the traverse rails in the truck bed.
And so we come with today. The Sun shield was taken of the car and i started to alter the brackets for them. The original mounting plates are cut of and new ones were made and tacked in place.
All that's left is to alter the other side and finish them.
But that will be for tomorrow.
